2024 Club camp UPDATE

*UPDATE* – Brad and Lynda from HavaGo are now in the process of locking down bookings for the guided hunts both during and after the camp. Spots are running out, so if you want to bag a meat animal or trophy you’ll want to do it quicky before there are no more opportunities. This year we are hosting our annual camp in June on Queensland’s Premier hunting safari property, Nyora!

Nyora is one of the biggest and best safari hunting properties in Australia home to thousands of free-range deer, and MONSTER stags/bucks (red, fallow, rusa and chital), goats, pigs, camels, donkeys, buffalo and texas longhorn all wandering the property.

During the camp you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see these animals in a free-range environment as well as enjoy some time hanging out and socializing with other club members.

Dodge will be back with his trivia night, HavaGo will be hosting a shooting competition, there will be buggy tours of the property and even a meat goat hunt raffled off and run during the camp! The winner of the hunt will also get off easy as we will be running a goat butchering workshop too!

And if that wasn’t enough, during the camp and the week following the camp has been completely booked out exclusively for club members who want to stay on the property and book a guided hunt at a discounted rate.

Bonus Victorian Duck Hunt Giveaway!

Thanks to our friends over at Duck and Quail Hunting Australia we are giving away a bonus one day guided duck hunt in Victoria that will take place sometime within in the duck hunting season (April 10th – June 5th).

The giveaway includes the following;

private property access (a location will be selected based on duck numbers and the winners location)
the guide and his guiding fee,
the guides dog for retrievals,
breakfast and lunch
access to decoys, a boat and blind
hopefully 6 game ducks, as per day for the 2024 season limits (this depends on how good of a shot you are).

Game species include:

Pacific black duck, Wood duck, Mountain duck, Chestnut teal, Grey teal, Pink-eared duck.

Members must have the following:

Current Firearms Licence
Current Victorian Game licence (Gamebirds including duck)
Shotgun
Ammunition

The guide can also arrange airport pick up from either Melbourne or Avalon Airport.

Entries are open now for all Platinum members and will close on 12:00am AEST March 31st. Unlike our other giveaway members are required to fill out the form here to enter.

Winner announcement:

The winner will be announced the next week via the Australian Hunters Club monthly newsletter, Instagram account, Facebook group and Facebook page. We will also be directly contacting the winner via email.

Add additional days:

The winner will also have the option to add additional days onto their hunt making use of the guide, his equipment and the private property for an additional cost. Member Chris Waters is hosting a fantastic sambar and fallow deer hunt in October and is looking for another member to come along. See below.

“I’m looking for a member of the club, a new hunter who has never shot a deer to come along. They will take part in the hunt, have the opportunity to shoot a deer (will be a sambar or fallow) and take home the meat, as well as feature in the video. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn as well as hunt. A firearm licence is mandatory. Hunting on a mixture of public and private land. All accommodation (house) and food will be provided.” – Chris

Post Mansfield Outdoor Expo Dinner & Drinks

Planning on attending the Mansfield Outdoors Expo? Firstly make sure you pop over the the club’s booth and say hi to Cass, Luke and Zaheer who are running things, then why not stick around afterward for dinner and drinks and meet some other members?

We are hosting a casual hunters gathering at the Mansfield Hotel after the Mansfield Outdoors Expo for anyone who wants to attend.

It’s a great opportunity to come and share a meal with other local hunters, make some new friends and connect.

Terry's New Year’s Meat and Velvet

Terry’s back with another great harvest report from earlier in the year. You can read more about it below.

Hunt story: “Empty freezer at the end of the festival season meant myself and a friend headed out to a privet property seeking a meat animal.

After a short glassing session a hind was spotted feed out through thickets cover. I made a plan to stalk in and close the distance. However once off the ridge the wind switched forcing me a different direction that didn’t bother me as looking up the gully I spotted several more deer.

After making a stalk to the edge of the cover between me and the deer I took a 300m shot and a young velvet stag took only a few metres to drop. Luckily on the fire access track on the ridge. Easy recovery”

March Hunt Giveaway

DOUBLE Hunting Experience Giveaway

Congrats to Melissa K on winning last month’s guided red deer hunt with Queensland Deer Safaris and Zaheer Q on winning the guided Sambar deer hunt with Micks Sambar Science!

This month we have another TWO hunts to give away.

The first hunt we are giving away is access to a beautiful property near Flowerdale Victoria that borders the state forest and is full of wild Sambar. Winning this hunt gives you exclusive hunting access to the property for a weekend so you can head out there and bag yourself a deer. Accommodation is provided.
