Wild game recipe

Reid
Brennick

Primary protein:

Camel

Total cook time:

60 minutes

Serves:

6

Ingredients:

  • 500g Potatoes
  • 100g Butter
  • 1/4 Cup of Cream
  • 1 Cup of Grated Cheese (I use Parmesan and Mozzarella but any cheese will do)
  • Salt to taste
  • White Pepper to taste
  • 1Kg Camel Mince
  • 1 Brown Onion (Diced)
  • 250g Mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 250g Mixed Frozen Veg
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • Couple splashes of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 Jar of Leggos Tomato & Olive Oil Pasta Sauce

STEPS:

  1. Preheat oven to 200C

  2. Cut up Potatoes and put in a pot of boiling water to start your mash

  3. Fry off your onions and garlic until fragrant and starting to brown. Add your mince and cook until browned. Add your Mushrooms and Frozen Veg. Cook for about 5mins stirring occasionally.

  4. Mix in your Tomato Paste, Pasta sauce and Worcestershire sauce and leave to cook for another 5minutes or so.

  5. Once your potatoes are cooked drain out water, add butter, cream and mash to your desired consistency. Salt and Pepper to taste.

  6. In a decent sized baking dish layer the mince mixture and smooth out the top before scooping on your mashed potato. Sprinkle your desired amount of cheese over the mash and bang it in the oven for about 15mins to brown off the cheese.
