Introducing new Facebook Group state chats
To help members connect in real time we now have separate live chat rooms for each state in the Australian Hunters Club Facebook Group. You can use these groups to connect in real-time with other members from that state, organize hunts, share info… all the good stuff.
2024 club patch design opportunity
Last year we started a new tradition with the design and manufacture of a unique members patch that was purchased by members in a limited run to celebrate another year of the club running.
Last year Chris Waters designed it, but this year we thought we’d see if anyone else wants to take a crack?
For anyone interested, in keeping things consistent the base template of the patch will stay the same as last year’s, but there is total freedom to create the inner patch design. Just nothing rude or offensive. Given we are offering it to members to purchase there will also need to be a quality standard.

Members first deer
Zaheer Qazi has been a member of our club almost since the day we launched on Jan 1st 2022. He attended our 2022 annual club camp in Victoria and kept everyone fed for days with an amazing homemade Biryani, and then did the same thing for our Victorian Christmas breakup. (I was eating the leftovers for a week and loving it!)
Thanks to the encouragement and selfless actions of another member Luke Dobson, last month Zach was put onto an amazing spot by Luke which resulted in Zach harvesting his first Sambar deer. This beautiful spiker. The deer was shot less than 100m from the pin Luke gave him, 100m from car. It all happened within 20 minutes of arriving to the spot. CRAZY! Zach said he was even bumping deer on the drive-out.
Similarly, Cass has been an amazing contributor to our club hosting an event in Victoria, attending events, as well helping out with the clubs booth at the most recent Wild Deer Expo. This week we also get to celebrate Cass’ first hard-won deer, a beautiful sambar.
If you want to know what community looks like, this is the perfect example. Kindness, encouragement and helping each other out.
Awesome work Luke and Zach. You are both fantastic examples of the kind of hunters and people we need in our community. Keep it up.
Thanks to James from Blackfoot Designs (who is also a member) one lucky member who attends the camp will walk away with their own Blackfoot hunting shirt! Everyone who attends will go in the draw.
FINAL CAMP REMINDER
For members who have recently joined the club from the 13th – 15th of October, we are running our annual club camp in Nundle State Forest, NSW.
So far we have about 80 people who have indicated they are coming, so it’s going to be a great event.
It’s a casual camp with no agenda other than hanging out, meeting other members and connecting.
Given we will be camping in state forest you will need to bring the following:
- Food for 3 days
- Water
- Tent/soft top on car/camper
- Clothes
- Blankets
- Chair
- Shovel & toilet paper (there are no toilets)

If you are interested in coming you will need to RSVP via the form on that page.
We will be camping in Nundle State Forest at the following coordinates1.402471238424383, 151.25688408287388) highlighted in the yellow marked cleared section. This area is off boundary road to the south, near Hanging Rock.
