Central Victoria Casual Event

A quick reminder that member Marcel is hosting a casual members gathering in Central Victoria on 10/11/2023 at 6:30 at Sporting globe in Ballarat.

A chance to meet all the members around the Ballarat area and surrounds of central Victoria , will be hosted at the Sporting globe in Ballarat. come have a meal with us or just pop your head in and say G’day, just a casual dinner at the pub nothing too fancy just good food and great people. Reminder about Facebook Group state chats

Just a reminder that we now have real time separate live chat rooms for each state in the Australian Hunters Club Facebook Group. You can use these groups to connect in real-time with other members from that state, organize hunts, share info… all the good stuff. It’s been great seeing members make sure of these chats (hats off to our VIC members who have been the most active). If you haven’t checked out the chat for your state yet and pocked your head in to say hi you should.

Pre order your 2024 club patch (limited edition)

Ok everyone. It’s that time of the year again when we open up the pre orders for next years limited edition annual club patch.

This year we decided to do things differently and opened up the design process to our members (which turned out to be a very good idea). A big thank you to everyone who submitted designs and for those members who voted on their favourite via the Facebook Group.

In the end the Red Stag design submitted by member Mark H and designed by Luke Sieb won by a landslide. And now you can pre order it! Pre orders are only open until Nov 30th after which time they will shut. This is your only chance to pick up the patch, we won’t be doing making or selling this design again.

The patch is $22 minus your membership discount (15% Platinum, 10% Premium & 5% Basic) with free shipping.

Victoria’s Christmas Breakup event

This year we are hosting our annual Victorian Christmas club breakup at Anakie Gorge on Saturday Dec 9th @11am – 2:00pm.

Brisbane Ranges National Park, Anakie Gorge Walk, Staughton Vale VIC 3340

Come along, bring some friends or family (kids are welcome too). BYO meat and drinks.

2023 Camp Recap

Big thanks to everyone who came to camp and make it a brilliant weekend! Malachi, Sam, James C, David, Jim, Joe, Dennis, Nigel, Galen, Tully, James G, Nathan, Jack, Dodge and Cass it was great to have you all come.

Congrats to Jim on winning the Trivia night and a big thank you to Dodge and Accurate Hunts (www.accuratehunts.com) for running it and supplying the giveaway items. You were very generous mate, thank you. If you are looking to book an international hunt, or do a local hunting course be sure to check out Accurate Hunts website and get in contact with Dodge.

Also, a big thanks to James from Blackfoot Designs (www.blackfoot.com.au) for the hand made hunting shirt he gave away at the camp. Lastly, thank you to Tully for bringing and setting up the marquees, chopping up a forest of wood, for keeping everyone entertained (and enlightened) through out the weekend and for repairing Malachi’s puncture and helping getting him back on the road. You’re a legend mate. You brought a lot of life and value to the weekend.

I’ve taken a bunch of the feedback on board and are already planning next years camp which will be in Queensland. I’m hoping to share the dates and location with everyone soon so watch this space!

Recognising Luke Dobson

Just want to take some time to recognise Luke Dobson, someone in our club and community who is not only smashing it in his hunting, but also helping other members of the community get on to deer and helping shape our community in a positive way.

Luke, you continue to enrich our community mate with your positivity and contributions in sharing your time, knowledge and wisdom. Thank you for giving more then you take and for making our community a better place.

As I mentioned at the start of this section, Luke is a very successful hunter and regularly get’s deer on the deck. You can check out some of his recent hunts in the Facebook group, or some snaps from his recent trip below.
