Mentor Matching
Members Benefits
Starting out in hunting can feel overwhelming. Whether you are learning to track game, navigating public lands, understanding regulations, or building field skills, having an experienced mentor by your side can transform your journey.
That is why we built the AHC Mentor Matching Tool—an exclusive, automated service designed to bridge the gap between enthusiastic learners and seasoned hunters in your local area.
How it works
Finding a mentor traditionally takes months of networking, cold calling, or forum posting. We’ve removed that friction completely by leveraging the scale of our national member network and combining it with intelligent location-based automation.
When you request a mentor, our system goes to work on your behalf:
Location-Based Proximity Search: The tool scans our members directory within a 100 km radius of where you live to find verified members who have volunteered to mentor.
Direct Club Outreach: Instead of you needing to reach out cold, the website reaches out via email with the authority of the Australian Hunters Club to contact the closest prospective mentor first.
Seamless Automated Introductions: As soon as a mentor confirms they have the capacity and desire to connect, the system automatically introduces both of you via email so you can begin building your relationship.
Smart Queue Management: If a mentor is away or unavailable, the system automatically moves to the next closest mentor—ensuring your request never gets stuck in limbo.
Whether your mentorship looks like grabbing a casual coffee, hopping on a phone call, sharing gear advice, or head out into the field together, this tool fast-tracks your learning curve.
Respecting Your Privacy at Every Step
We take member privacy and safety seriously. The Mentor Matching Tool is built around a secure, double opt-in process:
Initial Privacy Shield: In the initial outreach email sent to a prospective mentor, we only share your first name that you live near the prospective mentor.
Zero Unsolicited Contact: Mentors only receive your email address once they explicitly review and accept the connection request.
Complete Control: You remain in full control of your search request, with the ability to cancel it directly from your member dashboard at any time.
Are you an experienced hunter? Mentorship is entirely voluntary. Members can easily opt-in or opt-out of receiving mentor match requests at any time directly through their member profile settings.
Prefer to find your own mentor?
While our automated tool makes connecting effortless, you aren’t restricted to automated matching. If you prefer a hands-on approach, you can take full control of your search through our interactive Members Directory.
Simply log into your account, complete your own member profile, and explore the directory using our dynamic map—allowing you to search for potential mentors far beyond the standard 100 km automated radius.Â
By reviewing detailed member profiles, you can filter by specific hunting disciplines, experience levels, and shared interests to pinpoint the exact mentor who aligns with your goals. Once you find the right fit, you can initiate contact directly using the outreach form located at the bottom of their profile.
Ready to Fast-Track Your Hunting Journey?
Access to the Mentor Matching Tool—along with our full directory, digital tools, and nationwide community—is included automatically with your Australian Hunters Club membership.
Once you join, simply log into your account dashboard, navigate to Mentorship page, click the checkbox and let our automated system do the heavy lifting for you.
